So weirdly enough, I like the exact same number songs from both games. Wierd to me, because I thought Guitar Hero II was severely lacking in good songs. I think part of it might be that a bunch of those songs on the first game I have marked "-" are actually more enjoyable to play than the "-" songs from Guitar Hero II. Most of the opening songs for Guitar Hero II just really suck.

Veteran's Day

Going to work today, which is unusual for anyone who does government work. But so it goes when you are short a man and expected to the do the work of two. I'd complain to my boss, but hell, I'm really enjoying the work. Another rare situation that.

There is a good chance I'll be testing to my next belt level in shaolin next week. Possibly. I probably could have tested months ago, but I'm not the kind of guy that is there just to jump through the ranks and make black as quick as possible. But now the instructor has been hammering on me to test . . . so I guess I'm going to do it. Assuming I pass, that leaves just one more level of brown and then I test to black. Which honestly means that much, except that the real training starts at black. Whatever the case, I've really been enjoying it and man, such a great stress reliever.

Oh yea, as a follow up to that interview that I failed a few months back. Well, I have heard through various third parties that my name is actually a bad word at that company ?!?! How is that even possible, they didn't even hired me, I never filled out an employee application. I swear, that was the weirdest interview I have ever done.

It could be an unfortunate day for mankind. That is if an America barely under the control of Democrats does end up pulling out of Iraq and backing away from the war on Islamic Terrorism. Hell, we even have a Muslim in congress now with ties to the Nation of Islam and other Islamic groups that support terrorism. Awesome.

But as with all elections, it's a lose - lose situation. Anyone who knows me has heard how I feel about politicians in general. R is just as corrupt as D and vice versa. Power corrupts and all that.

That said, I'm still a bit surprised. Only so much though, I've found that terrorism is not only a complex subject, but also an uncomfortable one for most Americans. I don't think most people understand the value of America's presence in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East. So this is what we get.

And let's not forget the MSM influence. Another vastly unfortunate, I'd say even anti-American, mechanism is our country. I watched of a bit of the news as the election results came in and it was like they were throwing a party. My, so non-partisan *sarcasm*.

Ultimately, I am going to hope for the best, as pointless as that may be. I had heard a rumors that some of the Democrats were a bit more conservative and I am going to hope level headed. Time will tell.

In other news I am massively overloaded with work and under a lot of stress. As always, I go from doing practically nothing to do far too much. The nature of the business I suppose? It's starting to get old.

Huh, well I received a response from the company I was interviewing with. They said they thought my resume was "overstated". Uh huh. I'll tell you what really happened, there was an unfortunately large woman in the interview that was giving off some bad vibes. She was very dismissive of everything I had to say and at one point pretty much accused me of lying. Specifically, she tried to trap me with questions about another contract I had worked on, not telling me she was also on the contract and whatever bitch. At the time, I didn't think to much of it . . . as the rest of the interview went pretty well. Heh, I guess that lady had more pull than I initially credited her.

Fortunately, I had no intention of taking the job, I was more feeling it out for our move to Dallas next year. With that said, I am pretty pissed off that they (they being that woman) me would accuse me of lying. Sigh.

So, quite a bit happening lately.

Going to shaolin very regularly since . . . June or July, something like that. Starting to feel pretty good, body is getting back in shape and in just the past few weeks I've finally caught up to where I was 2 years ago as far as my forms are concerned. Good stuff.

Lots of crap happening on the job front. As I mentioned on the boards, that company did not win the contract they have been pursuing for about 6 months now. Really, that's a good thing for me, as I was going to have to tell them no. I would have felt bad bailing on them after all this time. Problem solved and I am sure they are devstated. They were just so incredibly sure they had the contract. Man.

I switched to a different contract within my own company and it's looking to be a good one. The other guys on the team are cool and the work is very technical. The job site is only a 10 minute drive from my house, which by itself is a freaking miracle. Contract is supposed to go till next May or June, which is perfect timing for us, with our potential move to Dallas. All and all, it's shaping up rather well.

Had an interview with EMC, the MS Practice division last week. Interviewed with them just to have a fallback plan in case my current contract goes sour, which I am finding out over the years is always a possibility in this line of work. The phone screen and the interview went pretty well I thought . . . more then well, I thought I nailed it. But they haven't gotten back to me. Kind of wierd, but whatever.

New project in mind

I am considering a new project which I thought up the other day. I'd like to map every institution withing a certain radius of DC (say 25 or 50 miles) that has anything to do with Islam (like with google maps, or something similiar). Along with mapping, I'd like to start collection information about these intitutions (mosque's, schools, that crazy camp here in VA, foundations, etc). I'd also like to start collating any news in the area that has anything to do with Islam. Those are my starting points. Thoughts?

New Job?

Anxiously waiting for news on this job I am pursuing. Met a few guys on a project I was doing late last year who worked for a very small startup (like 10 people). They, for some reason, liked me enough to want to bring me in on this new contract they are bidding on. It's been a long process, government contracts always are, but we should know for sure by tomorrow. Hopefully. It would be great work, with some really intelligent and hard working people, in a technically interesting environment . . . and more money of course.

Place I'm working at now is DEAD. Casey bailed last week, for him it was either bail or shoot himself in the head. It was getting that bad. This place is a complete dead end and unfortunately it looks like my company just doesn't have any where else to put me right now. They are cool with me leaving and I'm sure would take me back any time, if I wanted. So no hard feelings there. But man, I can't wait to get the hell out of here.
